The winners of Clare Business Excellence & Resilience Awards 2021 were revealed at a gala ceremony held at Glór Theatre, Ennis recently.

Ei Electronics was delighted to win the Business Supporting Community Award, sponsored by Essilor.  The awards were hosted and organised by Ennis Chamber. Clare County Council were on board again this year as the event’s main sponsor and MC on the night was author and comedian Colm O’Regan, who brought a perfect blend of relaxed humour and professionalism to the event.

The Business Supporting Community Award celebrates businesses that invested time, effort and resources to support communities at local, national or international level. It looks specifically for positive impacts those activities have had on the community. Speaking afterwards, Peter Murphy of Ei Electronics commented, “We are delighted to receive this award, in recognition of the work Ei has done over 30 years in supporting the Midwest region. Community involvement will continue to be an important cornerstone of our culture into the future”.

The big winners on the night were Western Herd Brewing/McHugh’s Bar, who won the ‘Resilience Award’ category sponsored by Cup Print and went on to scoop the overall award for ‘Best Business in Clare’ sponsored by Clare County Council.

President of Ennis Chamber Darragh McAllister, welcomed back the awards after an enforced hiatus due to Covid. “It feels so good to be back in a venue like Glór, to meet fellow business people, to share some ‘war’ stories and more importantly to look to a brighter future.”
