Abbott Laboratories Ireland’s Community Engagement Policy

Rooted in corporate values of Pioneering, Caring, Achieving and Enduring, employee volunteerism is a valued practice within Abbott. Across the 11 Abbott Ireland sites, employees organise many activities that support the local communities. In a 2017 survey, 50 percent of employees reported participating in a voluntary activity, and employees are encouraged to organise projects that:

– promote science and engineering

– support patients and patient organisations

– protect the environment

– meet a pressing community need.

Abbott provided €216,660 in cash donations; €13,240 was contributed through in-kind donations and €72,952 was raised through employee fundraising. Employees also volunteered 7,144 hours to local groups and projects during the year.
