Penneys ‘ environmental commitment

penneysRecognising the importance of continuing to evolve its chemical management policy in line with industry best practice, Penneys (operated by Primark, a UK subsidiary of Associated British Foods) has committed to reducing the environmental impacts associated with textile manufacturing, including enabling the safe and efficient use of chemicals, water and energy. In February 2014, Primark announced its commitment to work with industry and other stakeholders to achieve the goal of zero discharge of hazardous chemicals within the textile supply chain by 2020, joining leading brands such as Burberry, Mango and H&M in doing so.

The detail of this commitment is outlined in Primark’s Detox Solution, agreed in conjunction with the global NGO Greenpeace.
