October is National Reuse Month

BITCI News - Communication - Environment - Aug 28, 2018

October is national reuse month. Below are some activities your company may be interested in if you are engaging in circular economy business models or even just looking for ways to reduce/redirect waste streams. In addition to the speakers and topics, these events would be attended by organisations like ReCreate and ReDiscovery Centre and other charities across the country engaged in turning waste into new products.

REUSE MONTH OCTOBER

CRNI (Community Reuse Network Ireland) is involved this year in coordinating National Reuse Month October in partnership with the three Regional Waste Authorities. This campaign aims to show people how they already reuse in their everyday lives and businesses and to inspire them to reuse more. Our theme – At Home, At Work, At Play – Reuse Everyday – will showcase different kinds of reuse from borrowing to repairing to refilling through an online toolkit (due to be released early September), press & digital promotions, posters and events. These are currently under development we will share them as soon as they are complete. In the meantime we would encourage anyone thinking of running an event related to the Circular Economy to tie it into Reuse Month October, or anyone running an event in October to tie it into reuse. Other actions business could take include highlighting the campaign through internal communications (newsletters, lunch & learn talks, etc), running an event for staff and more – we will give further examples on our site www.reusemonth.ie once up and running.

CRNI BIENNIAL CONFERENCE – EVERYDAY REUSE
