New Women@Work programme launched

In the run up to International Women’s Day, we are delighted to launch our new employment programme for women. Women@Work is for those who wish to return to the workforce or enter it for the first time by connecting with businesses. As part of our Inclusive Employer Blueprint, we run a number of innovative programmes designed to support people with high barriers to employment find work. Women@Work is jointly funded by the Department of Justice and Equality and the European Social Fund (ESF).

The benefits to companies are significant:

  • A practical approach to developing a social inclusion strategy
  • Recruitment from non-traditional sources provides access to a more diverse future talent pool
  • Access to volunteering programmes
  • Improved reputation and trust with local communities
  • A diverse and engaged workforce
  • A clear signal to employees of commitment to a key national issue
  • Training opportunity for staff when it comes to leadership and mentoring
  • Measurable impacts and detailed reports

Women@Work provides a next step for women who have already participated in existing high quality employability programmes but who have not yet found suitable employment. The Women@Work programme is for women who have completed employability programmes but need further help to access employment. This includes single mothers, women who have left employment to provide care to children or other family members, women migrants and refugees, women with disabilities or who have had mental health, addiction or other challenges. All participants will be well known to the employability programmes they have completed. Agencies can refer clients to the programme by accessing more information on this page of our website.
