Profiling BITCI members and CSR in Ireland in front of European CEOs, high-level EU officials and thought leaders in CSR

Enterprise 2020

On November 16 and 17 at BOZAR, Brussels, CSR Europe will host the Enterprise 2020 Summit. The event will be a platform to discuss, debate and inspire new and innovative approaches to corporate social responsibility in Europe providing the opportunity to shine a light on the progress and achievements made so far on Corporate Social Responsibility in Ireland.

Confirmed speakers so far include Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament; Jacques Delors, Former President of the European Commission, Marianne Thyssen, European Commissioner, DG Employment; Tibor Navracisics, European Commissioner, DG Education and Culture; Klaus Dieter Rennart, CEO, Hitachi Europe and His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium.

The Summit is the next step in the Enterprise 2020 initiative following the launch of the Enterprise 2020 Manifesto in June at the World Expo Milan. Enterprise 2020 is the European corporate social responsibility movement’s initiative to encourage businesses to contribute to achieving the Europe 2020 goals by delivering high levels of employment, productivity and social cohesion.

Over 500 participants are expected at the Summit, and will have the opportunity to discover how practical collaboration with other companies, cities and stakeholders can contribute to a more sustainable future for Europe.

At the Summit, CSR Europe’s network of national partner organisations will organise workshops on key contemporary CSR topics including business-city collaboration, circular economy, business and human rights and non-financial reporting.

BITCI will be co-organising a very topical workshop on ‘responsible sourcing’ to raise awareness of the risks, opportunities and innovations for SMEs and large companies to deliver strategic value along the supply chain. This provides BITCI the opportunity to profile the leading and innovative responsible sourcing practices of its members in front of an audience comprising CEOs, high-level EU officials and thought leaders in the CSR sector.

BITCI will also have a national stand at the ‘European Village’ to showcase practical products or services developed by our member companies to improve sustainability and social responsibility.

This provides an opportunity to not only profile the great work of BITCI member companies but also position Ireland as a responsible place to do business.

If you would like to discuss the opportunity to profile your organisation’s sustainable goods or services at the Enterprise 2020 Summit or have any questions on the event, please contact Jen Casey on 01 – 874 3847 or jcasey@bitc.ie.
