Dublin Airport Authority named best company in Ireland for the quality of its staff training and development.

DAAbrendanlyonphotographyDublin Airport Authority has been named the best company in Ireland for the quality of its staff training and development.
It took top honours at the at the 2014 Irish Institute of Training and Development (IITD) national training awards, ahead of some of the country’s biggest corporate entities.
The judges chose daa for its “strong, site-wide learning opportunities and maintaining a
consistently high standard in training and people development.”
The award was presented by Minister of State for Training and Skills, Ciarán Cannon, at an
event attended by over 300 guests at Killashee House Hotel.
DAA won the Large Enterprises Customer Services category, before going on to win the top overall award from among the other category winners, including State Street, KPMG, Age Action Ireland, Dulux, Grafton, Teagasc and Lake Region Medical.
Minister Cannon TD said quality, innovation and excellence in people development empowered individuals and organisations and built talented workforces capable of competing globally. IITD president James O’Neill said the winners were leading the way in training and people development. “Together we are getting Ireland moving again.”
daa development programmes manager Mick Byrne said he was delighted with the award and he thanked everybody in the company who contributed to such a wonderful achievement. “It’s a great honour for daa to be named the best in Ireland, ahead of so many other major companies, in such a vital area as staff training and development which is one of the most important investments any company can make in its own future.”
