Announcing BITCI’s Biodiversity Photography Competition
Today (22nd May) is the International Day for Biodiversity and BITCI is marking it by announcing our Biodiversity Photography Competition!
Employees at any of our member companies are eligible to enter, so please share the details far and wide with your colleagues. This gives you a great opportunity in finding passionate people in your workforce that appreciate the environment and can assist you in growing biodiversity awareness within your company. There are three categories, with a prize for each, kindly sponsored by Bord na Mona:
- Biodiversity On-Site– Anything from a pot of wildflowers in your office to a bird in a hedgerow on site
- Biodiversity On Your Commute– From the window of a bus or train, on the side of the road, or along a greenway that you walk or cycle on your way to the office
- Biodiversity In Our Community– Pictures from biodiversity volunteering initiatives, or the local area around your offices

Photographs of native species, endangered species and interactions between species, as well as photos that highlight topical conservation issues, will be especially favoured by the judges. Prizes include subscriptions to the Irish Wildlife Trust, Birdwatch Ireland, species identification swatches and Irish books on nature and ecology.
Competition runs for the duration of Biodiversity Week to the end of June (Monday 22nd May to 30th June).
Photographs will be exhibited and winners announced at our Biodiversity Learning Network Meeting in September.

The competition is open to any employee of a BITCI member company.
All Photograph Submissions will become the property of Business in the Community Ireland and may be used by BITC where we see fit.
