PM Group announces €50k bursary for Nagle Community College pupils

PM Group has announced a bursary worth €50K for Nagle Community College pupils. The school is located near the company’s Cork office.The bursary is open to sixth year and transition year (TY) pupils over four years. It is designed to support the students’ interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and to encourage them to pursue third level education. The collaboration will include the provision of laptops for each leaving certificate student who moves forward to third level education, with mentoring for each student who pursues STEM related courses. As part of the collaboration, PM Group will provide spaces on its TY Programme for pupils, in addition to providing an opportunity for students to avail of internships at PM Group for those pursuing engineering courses at third level.

Speaking at the announcement of the bursary, Pat Ryan, Operations Manager, PM Group in Cork, said, “we are delighted to partner with Nagle Community College which is located in the heart of our local community in Mahon. Technology and innovation are key drivers for our business and we are passionate about supporting and mentoring young talent, particularly in the STEM disciplines. As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the opening of our Cork office this year, it’s fitting that we focus on our local community and, in particular, supporting the efforts of local students to pursue third level education.”

I’m particularly delighted that PM Group has committed to providing mentoring and internship opportunities for our students over the next four years. This will be critically important for them as they transition from the school environment to third level education.”
