Learning for Life has been recognised as the best Back to Work initiative in Ireland by training and development experts

Diageo received the recognition at the National Training Awards, which recognises the very best in practice and excellence in learning and development programmes in the State.

The awards are overseen by the Irish Institute of Training & Development , a non-profit professional body representing members concerned with human resource training and development in Ireland.Their membership comprises 1,500+ members from  business, industry, consultancy, voluntary, community, education and the public sector.

It means that Learning for Life, after just two years, is now recognised as one of the best work-related training programmes in Ireland, moving it beyond the definition of a CSR initiative.

It’s an amazing recognition for Diageo and Learning for Life, and particularly for Angela Smith, whose passion and commitment has brought the programme from a pilot to eight programmes on the island of Ireland during 2016, providing training and back to work opportunities for 120 young people.

We plan on having a big awards ceremony later this year to celebrate the participants.

What’s really significant is that these are a professional body awards, meaning that Learning for Life stands out as best in class in professional training standard
