A&L Goodbody (A&LG) marked International Women’s Day on March 8th by organising two events for their employees. On the morning of International Women’s Day, the firm organised complimentary tea/coffee and pastries in the Restaurant for everyone to celebrate the contribution that women make to the success of the firm.

In the evening, A&LG hosted a panel event for all employees, moderated by Sonya Lennon – fashion designer, presenter and founder of Dress for Success. Sonya was joined by social entrepreneur Michelle O’Donnell Keating, founder of Women for Election, Roisin Ingle, Features Editor with the Irish Times, Josepha Madigan Fine Gael T.D. and Catherine Duffy, senior partner with A&LG and Chairman of the Firm. The panel delivered an engaging and spirited discussion about their careers focussing on the 2017 International Women’s Day theme – Be Bold for Change.

The event was also used as a fundraiser for Dress for Success. A&LG developed a three year partnership with Dress for Success in 2016 to specifically support one of their programmes called Steps to Success. Steps to Success provides mentoring opportunities for women participating in labour market activation programmes.  Since launching our partnership, 12 A&L Goodbody female employees are mentoring women participating in the Steps to Success programme giving them extra support and guidance in developing their careers. A&LG provides financial support to the charity in addition to mentoring.
