Gas Networks Ireland is delighted to announce that Age Action will benefit from its customer research process in 2019. Every time a Gas Networks Ireland customer completes a customer experience survey, a donation of €2 will be made to Age Action’s Care & Repair service.

Age Action was established in 1992 with the vision to make Ireland the best country in the world to grow older in, through the provision of quality services for older people and better policies. In 2007, the Care & Repair Programme was launched to carry out DIY work and small repairs in older people’s homes free of charge, providing them with security and comfort.

Since 2008, Gas Networks Ireland has donated €2 for every survey completed by its customers. The survey process is an important resource for the organisation to drive continuous improvement and to ensure that best in class customer service is maintained.

Gas Networks Ireland has previously worked with Age Action, donating 8,600 CO alarms to the charity in 2017 and 2018, worth €100,000. Age Action installed the alarms in the homes of vulnerable older people across Ireland, providing volunteers with installation training and teaching them about CO safety.

“We are delighted to partner with Age Action as our beneficiary charity this year. Age Action is a good fit for Gas Networks Ireland and we’re happy that our donations throughout 2019 will fund the Care & Repair vans nationwide for a whole year,” said Marie Lyster, Customer Experience Manager, Gas Networks Ireland.

Marie added, “The opportunity to donate funds to charity through our customer research process is welcomed. I hope that this contribution will help Age Action to reach increased numbers of older people nationwide in need of support this year.”

Patrick Connolly, CEO of Age Action Ireland, said “I’m delighted to see Gas Networks Ireland come on board as an Age Action corporate partner in 2019.

By making a donation for every customer satisfaction survey they receive this year, they will be making a regular and much-needed contribution towards our programmes to support older people in communities across the country.”
