We advise businesses on the design, management and evaluation of strategic employee policies and programmes through our Inclusive Employer framework. We provide access to a diverse pool of talent through our employment programmes helping marginalised people get into employment. We also provide businesses the opportunity to have a positive impact by engaging the next generation of talent through our education programmes.

The Inclusive Employer blueprint

The Inclusive Employer blueprint is a practical guide to create inclusive workplaces and reduce social inequality in Ireland. It is designed to be a starting point for any employer interested in building an inclusive society starting with their own company. For those companies already applying a social lens to their diversity and Inclusion strategy, this blueprint will complement existing activities.

Case Studies

SSE strives to be an inclusive employer by operating an inclusive recruitment process and increasing diversity within SSE’s teams.

We supported SSE in the design and delivery of a best in class diversity and inclusion initiative: SSE Works. This programme provided paid work placements, leading to permanent employment to people not in education, employment or training, who experienced various long-term barriers to accessing the workplace.

The SSE Works model provides a highly valuable precedent for SSE and other businesses: it has offered quality experiences of work and a career path for participants; it has opened up a new recruitment stream to the company; it has demonstrated commitment to the local community and has provided a way of instilling pride in the company and a personal sense of fulfilment for existing employees. We continue to work with SSE to build inclusive workplaces.
