VENUE: SSE Ireland, Red Oak South, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, D18 W688
TIME: 10:00am – 12:00 noon
Topic: ‘Engaging your employees in Biodiversity’.
Over the last five years, Business in the Community Ireland has been promoting biodiversity to our members and encouraging you to get involved through the Biodiversity Framework and the various workshops and events we’ve run. Last year we launched our first Biodiversity Handbook for Business highlighting some of the outstanding biodiversity related initiatives undertaken by our member companies.
There is still scope for Irish business to do more in driving the biodiversity agenda further. With growing scientific consensus that the planet is losing nature at an unprecedented rate, 2020 will be a year of opportunity to tackle the deterioration of the natural world and that is why we plan to continue our Biodiversity Learning Network series again this year.
Our first event will be taking place on the 13th of February on the topic of ‘Engaging Your Employees on Biodiversity’. We will have two case studies from member companies sharing their biodiversity stories. We will also present an update on the latest global trends and policy updates in terms of Biodiversity and how member companies can engage in the Lisbon Declaration, a joint initiative of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) to support business action and commitment at scale towards addressing the challenges biodiversity faces today.
