2013 – KPMG has built a strong relationship with St. Michael’s House over the last few years. More recently, St. Michael’s House Home Teachers and Outreach Librarians approached KPMG about working together to develop a prototype for Multi‑Sensory Stories for Children with Intellectual Disability. This is a new and innovative product stemming out of the need to improve the quality of story time of children in St. Michael’s House.
2013 – In 2012 Ulster Bank developed a facility for our customers to donate to charity via any of our 1,100 ATM machines island-wide. Customers can donate from €1 to €250 to 14 well-known charities (8 in Republic of Ireland and 6 in Northern Ireland). The charities were selected based on research to represent the causes closest to the hearts of Irish people: children’s welfare, cancer research, hospice care, disability support, homelessness, poverty, serious illness and third world aid. We wanted an initiative to raise awareness of ATM Giving with our customers and at the same time bring our people together as ‘one team’ behind a common cause of raising funds for our ATM Giving charity partners.
2013 – In partnership with The Wheel, the representative body that supports Ireland’s Not-for-Profit sector, we co-created a new proposition tailored to meet the needs of their members.
2013 – In 2008, Moneypoint Generation Station (Ireland’s only coal burning station) brought the MERP (Moneypoint Environmental Retrofit Project) online to reduce NOx and SOx emissions. This significantly increased raw water consumption for the site.
2013 – The delivery of our First Sustainability Programme, 2008-2012, engaged a wide range of staff in the process of embedding sustainable practices at the heart of how we do business in ESB. Staff took the initiative in identifying and implementing new, more sustainable and resource efficient ways of working.
