Lidl’s Community Engagement Policy

Our objective is to be a good neighbour by positively contributing to the communities in which we live and operate. We are delighted to partner with Jigsaw – the national centre for youth mental health. Through this partnership, we are pledging to raise €1 million over the next 3 years. Through our own Lidl ‘Feed It Back’ network, powered by FoodCloud and FoodCloud Hubs, we redistribute surplus food from our warehouses and stores to local charities. Our aim is to tackle food waste and use our surplus food for good, to “feed it back” into our local communities to help those who need support.

Lidl’s Impact in 2018

In 2018, to help us give back to the communities that we live and work in, Lidl partnered with 1,437 community organisations across Ireland, including LGFA clubs and Jigsaw. Through these community links, our employees gave 3,955 volunteer hours and fundraised €694,019, in addition to company support of €4,500 in cash donations and €841,821 worth of in-kind donations.
