It is an Intel Value to be an inclusive, great place to work, and an asset to our communities worldwide.
Each year Intel Ireland selects two signature charities in order to give employees the opportunity to dedicate their efforts towards providing awareness, volunteer time and funds. These are raised through specially organised activities to the chosen organisations. Last year, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland and Make a Wish Ireland were selected.
Throughout the year we continually raised funds for the charities through events ran by Intel volunteers. We harnessed the skills and interests of the employees across the site to volunteer throughout the year with a variety of projects, for the wannabe Mary Berry’s we had a cake sale, for the fitness enthusiasts we had cycle, for families we had a fun run and for the artistic employees we had a lip sync battle. This is just a snapshot of the variety of opportunities we had through the year.
With the help of almost 1,000 employees who between them volunteered over 2,300 hours and raised €59,569 to be split between the two charities.
Following Intel Ireland’s donation in December, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland will be in a position to support and fully fund two Alzheimer Cafés and two social clubs in the Leinster area. The Cafés and Social Clubs are for people living with dementia, their friends, families and/or carers. They are a social gathering in a safe environment where people can drop in to chat, access information and support, and meet other people as well as to exchange ideas and experiences.
Through the raised funds Intel was also able to grant four wishes to children living in Kildare. These wishes include:
