Promoting Corporate Social Responsibility internationally

We believe in profiling the work of our members internationally as well as here in Ireland. We also draw on international best practice to continuously improve our services.

We represent Ireland at
CSR Europe, the largest corporate responsibility network in Europe. CSR Europe is the leading European business network for corporate social responsibility with around 80 multinational corporations and 35 national partner organisations as members. The organisation was founded in 1995 by senior European business leaders in response to an appeal by then European Commission President Jacques Delors. It has since grown to become an inspiring network of business people working at the very forefront of CSR across Europe and globally. We meet with our international counterparts regularly to share knowledge and best practice. We also invite a number of our members to CSR Europe events where they can profile their work at a European level.

In addition to our representation in Europe, we also have sister Business in the Community organisations in Northern Ireland and in the UK.

Business in the Community Ireland are also proud to be the first Irish Business Association to support the United Nations Global Compact. The United Nations Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to voluntarily align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and to take actions in support of UN goals, including the Millennium Development Goals.
