We have published our 2015 Sustainability Report

BITCI News - Aug 25, 2016

We are delighted to launch our 2015 Sustainability Report ‘in accordance’ with GRI’s G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines. Although we are a small organisation, we are committed to reporting our sustainability impacts and achievements to our stakeholders in a way that is relevant for us.

The Foundation for Investing in Communities encompassing Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI) and The Community Foundation for Ireland (CFI) has published its 2015 Sustainability Report marking the continuation of our own sustainability journey. We are extremely cognisant of the leadership that we need to demonstrate ourselves in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability and Governance.

Every year we aim to raise our standard a little more and this year, the preparation of this report ‘in accordance’ with GRI’s G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines marks another milestone for us. We are the only NGO and small organisation to use this standard in Ireland. Although we are a small organisation, we are committed to reporting our sustainability impacts and achievements to our stakeholders in a way that is relevant for us. We want to be accountable to our stakeholders.

Using the GRI standard helped us to report on the issues that our stakeholders told us were important. These include Diversity and Equal Opportunity, Training and Education, Ethical Fundraising, Occupational Health & Safety and our Emissions among others. The report provides details such as the gender and age diversity of our staff and boards, our investment in training, our sources of funding, our approach to health and wellbeing and our trends in carbon emissions.

Our aim is to continuously improve our sustainability performance and we welcome your feedback which we will use to inform our future actions and reports.
