Sinéad Mitchell

Sinéad joined the team in 2013 and leads on our SME service. She works with our member companies across various CSR pillars including supporting their overall strategy development.

Prior to joining Business in the Community Ireland, Sinéad worked on an EU project, FutureSME, developing sustainable business models for SMEs. Her previous role as an Engineer in healthcare manufacturing (Abbott, Allergan and Novo Nordisk) brings a wealth of knowledge of the corporate sector. Her community experience includes the development of a social enterprise in Longford Women’s Link and supporting female entrepreneurship to support social inclusion.

Sinéad has a BEng and a PhD in Industrial Engineering and a post-graduate qualification in Research Practice. Her doctoral research involved consulting with SME owner-mangers on a Sustainability and Eco-Innovation Framework for Manufacturing SMEs. She has lectured in the Kemmy Business School in UL on CSR to masters students.

Area of expertise

Sinéad has expertise understanding the needs of the owner-managers of SMEs and developed the current service offering – Responsible Business for SMEs, which was launched in 2015.
