Kerry County Council opens its doors to Chambers and provides students from Causeway Comprehensive School with a glimpse of working life in the Council.

On a recent visit to Kerry County Council, fifth year students from Causeway CS sat in Council Chambers and gained insight into the many careers that exist within the organisation.  Kerry County Council is one of the largest employers in Kerry employing over 1,300 staff across the county.

Ger O’Brien, Senior Executive Officer, arranged for speakers from different departments to meet and chat with the students about their chosen careers including John Brassil, An Cathaoirleach; John O’Sullivan, HR, Michael O’Coilean, Environmental Officer and Padraig Corkery, Press Officer.

To mark the occasion, students were presented with two oak trees before leaving council buildings which I believe have since been planted on the school grounds and are thriving well in the lovely fresh air in Causeway!
