BITCI is also the national partner in Ireland for CSR Europe, the co-ordinating body on corporate responsibility at a European level.

Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Job Purpose:

To champion best practise, strive for continuous improvement and support the business achieve its mission through assisting the organisation and employees to be the best they can be by ensuring excellence in the Human Resources (VIP) function in all aspects including:

  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Learning and Development
  • Performance and Capability Management
  • Talent Management and Succession Planning
  • Reward and Recognition
  • Employee Engagement Initiatives

Job Location: Dublin City Centre

Travel/ Driving License Required: No

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing VIP (HR strategy) in line with organisational objectives
  • Proactively work with managers to attract, retain, motivate and support the development of talent
  • Ongoing management of Excellence Through People (ETP) Standard and drive continuous quality improvement in people management practices. Managing ETP committee process and ensuring active communication and engagement in the Standard across the organisations
  • Manage VIP projects as appropriate keeping relevant stakeholders informed of progress
  • Management of monthly payroll processing in liaison with outsourced payroll provider
  • Maintaining and developing Company policies in line with legislation and best practice
  • Prompt resolution of employee queries and provision of confidential advice and support to employees where required
  • Conducting Annual Staff Survey and consulting with CEO and Senior Management team to build action plans arising out of employee feedback
  • Promote staff consultation processes and collaborative working across the organisation
  • Provision of advice and guidance to line managers on employee relations issues
  • Coaching line managers on the performance management cycle from goal-setting, through to mid-year and final end of year performance reviews and the use of the behavioral competency framework
  • Provision of proactive advice and support to CEO and Senior Managers regarding restructuring/ redundancy/ Transfer of Undertakings regulations and processes
  • Quarterly review of the Organisational Learning and Development Calendar and reporting to senior management team, ensuring training evaluations are completed
  • Compiling statistical data for Board Reports, CEO and line managers as required e.g. absence, turnover, training statistics
  • Employee file & database management, issuing contracts, scheduling and conducting HR inductions
  • Benefits administration e.g. travel pass scheme, bike to work scheme, PRSA etc. training administration, managing annual leave
  • Conduct exit interviews, compile associated statistical data and generate actions to address feedback
  • To actively contribute to a healthy, safe, secure and productive working environment

PERSON SPECIFICATION

 

Essential Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • HRM qualification with Membership of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)
  • Knowledge of best practice performance management systems
  • Good working knowledge of behavioural competency frameworks
  • Excellent knowledge of Irish employment legislation including Transfer of Undertakings and restructuring/ redundancy legislation and best practice processes

 

Experience

  • Experienced HR professional with 4 years+ Generalist HR experience
  • Experience of managing TUPE
  • Payroll processing (in conjunction with third party provider)

 

Skills/ Personal Attributes

  • Well-developed communication, relationship management and interpersonal skills
  • Strong focus on operational excellence with a solution based approach to issues
  • Ability to challenge constructively
  • Strong coaching skills combined with good judgment and discretion
  • Ability to manage a busy stand-alone HR function with changing priorities
  • Strong focus on maintaining high levels of confidentiality
  • Computer literate and fully conversant with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required

  • Experience of Excellence Through People Standard
  • Employment Law qualification
  • Good working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in Ireland
  • Experience of implementing and embedding key strategic HR initiatives
