To mitigate risk, safe-guard the company’s reputation, maintain customer trust and increase the resilience of the business, attend our Workshop to Drive Innovation in Sustainable Procurement in the Services Sector on Wednesday, June 12 at 1.30 pm in Chartered Accountants Ireland, 45-47 Pearse St, Dublin 2.

Developed for BITCI member companies in the services sector, but open to all members, this Workshop is ideal for those working in Procurement, Supply Chain, Environment, Finance, Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility.  Participants will have the opportunity to listen to their peers disclose and discuss the actions they have taken to make their procurement processes more sustainable, reduce costs, reduce environmental impact and foster innovation when possible.

On June 12, participants will hear from:

  • Paul Keenan, Category Manager, Infrastructure & Services, Bank of Ireland.
  • Mary Keays, Procurement Lead & UKI Category Manager, Accenture Ireland.
  • Daragh Wall, European Account Director, Smurfit Kappa Group.

Led by Senior Consultant, Darina Eades, all speakers will provide practical examples; they will share the challenges they have encountered to date and discuss the successes and benefits that have come about, following the actions taken.

According to participants of our Sustainable Procurement Workshop on March 7, 2013 (for companies in the Utility & Energy sectors):

“I got a great insight into sustainability in procurement…particularly the challenges but also the possibilities and opportunities within the area.”

“Significant for me was the tangible relationship between CR and the bottom line at Centrica, in relation to brand and reputation, risk off-setting, cost reduction etc.  Also, seeing how Centrica assess suppliers and are prepared to work with them to get to a certain level.”

“What a wonderful event and an excellent speaker!  Thank you very much for organising it”

To confirm your attendance at the June 12 Workshop, RSVP to Shane Mulchrone at smulchrone@bitc.ie by Friday, June 7, 2013.  Full details will be sent to all confirmed attendees in advance of the event.
