Get Voting ! Better Together campaign

BITCI News - Oct 22, 2012

The Wheel’s Better Together Campaign is now in full swing. And with just over two weeks to go before entries close, they have already counted over 78,000 votes for the 76 videos and 40 Charity Hero Nominations posted on www.bettertogether.ie.

The Better Together Video Competition is a chance for charities, community groups or associations to showcase their work; connect with members of the public; gain new supporters, fundraise and potentially win thousands of euro in cash prizes for their organisation.

The 10 videos with the most public votes will be shortlisted once voting ends on 19 November. The judges will then pick the three winning videos and the winners will be announced at the Better Together Awards Ceremony in Dublin on 6 December.

The second category, Ireland’s Charity Hero Award, celebrates an individual who has made an extraordinary contribution to a good cause in a voluntary capacity. Ireland’s Charity Hero Award is also about something bigger than any one individual – it’s about the heroic and selfless work being done by countless numbers of volunteers across Ireland every single day. The Charity Hero with the most number of votes will be named Ireland’s Charity Hero at the glitzy Better Together awards ceremony in Dublin on 6 December and will win €1,000 for an organisation of their choice.

So get voting if you haven’t already ! the voting process closes on 19 November. All you need to do is to visit the website and vote.

Follow the campaign on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #btgire2012.

The first Better Together campaign was launched in 2010 by The Wheel, a support and representative body for the Irish community and voluntary sector. The Wheel created the Better Together campaign in order to help raise public awareness and support for the work being done by literally thousands of charities, community groups, clubs and associations up and down the country.
