Top companies in Ireland contributed over €22 million to charities and community Groups in 2014

On May 13th last, Business in the Community Ireland published annual figures on Corporate Giving in Ireland. Our Business Impact Map http://livemaps.bitc.ie showcases the extent of community involvement some of our members are engaged in right across the island of Ireland. To coincide with the release of the data, BITCI facilitated an event Doing Good is Good for Business hosted by member company, Three at their offices in Dublin.  This event explored the following:

  • Business in the CommunityThe link between community involvement, employee engagement and a top performing business
  • The role of community engagement in supporting corporate culture
  • Community involvement as a differentiator in hiring top talent

The audience comprised of 100 professionals heard perspectives from four industry sectors.  Speakers from Accenture, AOL, Bank of Ireland and Boots participated in a dynamic panel discussion, with each sharing their own views and experiences of the benefits effective community programmes have within their businesses. The energy in the room travelled afar generating a great buzz online with #impactmap trending on Twitter by 11am reaching over 300,000 people and raising the awareness of the positive impact made in Ireland.
