Tuesday, 8th May 2012: Today, a delegation from the Shanghai Municipal Economy & Information Commission (SHCEIC) visited the offices of Business in the Community Ireland to learn more about how Ireland is working on corporate responsibility. The aim of the visit was to learn how successful companies build their corporate culture and how government agencies guide and encourage companies to fulfill their social responsibilities, eg. Government’s effort on promoting employment through helping the growth of SMEs, urging enterprises to improving working conditions, offering more training opportunities and welfare to employees, encouraging enterprises to engage in charity activities and much more. The six person delegation heard from Tina Roche, CEO of Business in the Community Ireland on the landscape on responsible and sustainable business practices in the country and together with Elise McCarthy, presented on the Business Working Responsibly Mark. Finally the delegation heard from Germaine Noonan on the Schools’ Business Partnership. The trip was organised by Enterprise Ireland.
