Business in the Community Ireland participated in the CSRxChange organised by Dr Deirdre Ahern of the TCD School of Law on September 17th. The seminar discussed the pending EU Non-Financial Reporting Directive, looking at ‘Constructing Regulatory, Reporting And Accreditation Tools For Corporate Social Responsibility’. One of our Senior CSR Advisers Maura Molloy presented a reflection on BITCI’s experiences with the Business Working Responsibly Mark certification. Other contributors included CRH, PwC and legal experts from TCD and QUB.

BITCI also hosted a stand at the annual American Chambers conference. The ‘Learning Edge’ conference which took place on September 17th in Aviva Stadium focused on the talent gap and the skills needed for growing sectors in the economy. Member speakers included Intel, IBM, State Street and MSD.

Our Community Outreach Executive Shane Mulchrone attended a seminar titled “Enabling Access to Education and Employment – Digital strategies for sustainable community building“. The event was to showcase an online platform for people with disabilities called Digiplace4all https://digiplace4all.eu designed by the National Council for the Blind as part of an EU project.
