Symantec’s first annual Global Service Week took place in October 2016, with an impressive uptake of employee volunteers and social impact in local communities around the world. #GivingTuesday also provided generous cash donations, so combined, employees contributed more than 6,200 hours of service over the course of one week, and more than $195,000 in donations over the course of a single day! With Symantec double-matching #GivingTuesday donations, the company’s single-day impact climbed toward half a million dollars. Symantec is proud to share a roundup of impact and success below.

Symantec: Global Services Week

Together Symantec employees are changing the world. Making it a better, safer place. This year (2016) Global Service Week was introduced: a week dedicated to our employees giving back and working alongside their colleagues to help nonprofits and local organizations.

One Week. A Lasting Impact.

Symantec Employees were able to volunteer: Virtually and In Person, Individually and As a Team. They supported one of Symantec’s four philanthropic areas (Stem Education, Diversity, Online Safety, and the Environment) or choose a nonprofit of their choice.

There were 70+ events hosted at 21 offices. Symantec employees extended their commitment by donating more than $195,000 on Giving Tuesday.

17% of Symantec employees have volunteered to date in 2016, an 143% increase over last year.
