June 2008: CRH and Irish Life & Permanent joint winners of ACCA Ireland 2008 Sustainability Reporting Awards

ACCA Ireland Sustainability Reporting Awards 2008 Business in the Community Ireland members CRH and Irish Life & Permanent win ACCA Ireland 2008 Sustainability Reporting Awards We are delighted to congratulate CRH and Irish Life & Permanent on their joint win at the ACCA Ireland Sustainability Reporting Awards. The Awards, in their seventh year, took place at a ceremony last week with a commendation going to Tullow Oil. Darina Eades, Senior Corporate Responsibility Consultant, Business in the Community Ireland, was judging panel chairman. The aims of these Awards are: • to give recognition to those organisations which report and disclose environmental, social or full sustainability information • to encourage the uptake of environmental, social and sustainability reporting • to raise awareness of accountability and transparency issues. ACCA Ireland welcome environmental, social and sustainability reports as well as annual reports and reviews. The winners of the Best Sustainability Report in the last Awards scheme was the Musgrave Group. Irish Life and Permanent plc and O2 Ireland received commendations for their reports last year.
