Responsible Business Practices: Their Impacts, Measurement and Reporting

The companies that are leaders in this area have integrated a best practice ethos across the organisation. We offer services which support companies to examine where they have best practice and where there are gaps. We then support the company to address identified shortcomings, improve their practices and communicate to stakeholders.

The membership services team work with companies to embed best practice throughout the organisation. Corporate responsibility is not about an add-on programme for a company, but a way of doing business and managing an organisation that is consistent with its values and responsible practices. In our work we look at 5 key areas:
• Community
• Environment
• Workplace
• Marketplace
• CR Communications & Management

Community Involvement and Employer Supported Volunteering

Businesses have a huge amount to offer as well as to gain from their local communities. At BITCI, we encourage our member companies to develop strategic programmes which combine skills and time of employees along with company resources, either financial of in-kind, into truly effective initiatives.

The most effective community initiatives are linked to business objectives and focus on building sustainable relationships with community partners. BITCI provides frameworks, mechanisms and support to our members to guide them through the process of developing community programmes to suit individual businesses.

Our Social Inclusion Programmes

Employment -

BITCI has developed expertise in placing marginalised groups in work, training and education. We have four Employment Programmes. Getting people back to work is without a doubt one of the most powerful ways in helping people feel they are part of, and contributing to our society. The companies who engage with us on these programmes are some of the most innovative, talented and progressive companies in Ireland.

Education -

BITCI has developed a model, whereby Government, business and the not-for-profit sector have engaged with one another in a real attempt to address the educational issue of school completion.
