Administrative Assistant

Our Business Action on Education encompasses the Schools’ Business Partnership initiative which supports educational inclusion in Ireland.  Almost 200 schools are partnered with local businesses engaging in programmes which support school completion, literacy and STEM.  Marks & Spencer Ireland has been the lead sponsor of the Schools’ Business Partnership since its inception.

 We are seeking to appoint an Administrative Assistant (full time) to the Schools’ Business Partnership Programme based in our Head Office in Dublin city centre.  The role of the Administrative Assistant is to develop, deliver and maintain an efficient and professional administration for the Schools’ Business Partnership.

 The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Three or more years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of the Irish Education system
  • Third level education
  • A high level of proficiency in the range of Microsoft Office programmes e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of social media – Twitter and Facebook and managing website content
  • Proficient knowledge in IT and database applications such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM;
  • Strong organisational and time management skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail and good writing skills;
  • Flexibility and the ability to manage a varied workload;
  • Ezine design

Corporate Responsibility (CR) Executive

 We are seeking to appoint a Corporate Responsibility (CR) Executive to assist the Membership Services Advisers to deliver on BITCI’s services to member companies.

The CR Executive will help implement BITCI’s development strategy, particularly in relation to working with major companies on embedding responsible and sustainable business practices across the organisation. The role is based in Dublin city centre and some travel within Ireland may be required. The role reports to the Assistant Manager of our Membership Services Team. There are no direct reports but at times there may be some responsibility for interns or volunteers.

 Responsibilities

  • Support Membership Services to manage the portfolio of client accounts. The CR Executive will primarily support CR Advisers on the delivery of strategic CR projects for member companies with the potential to lead on the management of a subset of client accounts.
  • The CR Executive will have responsibility in delivering some core membership advisory services on a one-to-one basis e.g. community mapping, environmental volunteering
  • Manage and assist with the delivery of the network event programme including network meetings, roundtables/workshops and strategic project meetings.
  • Analysis and write up of client reports, participation and facilitation at meetings, drafting of meeting and project notes, deliver appropriate follow-on actions for individual companies and carrying out research for client companies.
  • Design and support the facilitation of client meetings and workshops for companies.
  • Deliver and support the project management of the Business Working Responsibly Mark, including the recruitment and on-boarding of new companies; preliminary IT troubleshooting; audit documentation and data reporting.
  • Represent the organisation externally through attendance at various events, hosting of trade stands etc.
  • Any other duties assigned by the manager

Experience

  • Educated to degree level in relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of business operations and CR issues that are relevant to Irish companies
  • Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the various business sectoral networks and civil society organisations in Ireland
  • Ideally, have experience of working within a CR or sustainability environment
  • Awareness of best practice models in corporate responsibility and sustainability management

 

Skills and Personal Attributes

  • Excellent research and prospecting skills and experience
  • Problem-solving, planning and strategic thinking skills demonstrated in work experience
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic
  • Ability to work on one’s own initiative, as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work to deadlines and have excellent time management skills
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Computer literate and fully conversant with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Prepared to attend evening events and functions outside office hours in accordance with the fulfillment of the job description
  • Prepared to travel and attend events outside of normal working hours as required
  • Honest, professional and committed
  • Demonstrable skills in any of the following areas will be an advantage:
    1. Event management
    2. Auditing Techniques
    3. IT Troubleshooting
    4. Environmental management frameworks
